Pierce Wright
Pierce discovered his passion for photography in his high school darkroom. The combination of art and science, the act of capturing life on film and then bringing that image itself back to life was thrilling.
After realizing becoming a professional soccer player probably wasn’t exactly in the cards, a hobby became a calling and he decided quite early he’d pursue a career path in photography.
Moving from his hometown of Rochester, Michigan to Rochester, New York he studied photojournalism at the renowned Rochester Institute of Technology where he honed the craft of storytelling through images. After graduating from RIT, Pierce accepted a position as a photo assistant, eventually becoming photo editor, at the Associated Press' NYC world headquarters. Pierce continued his climb up, landing at Getty Images, where he currently works as managing editor within the company’s editorial department, assigning photojournalists across the country.
In addition to working with Getty's large network of photojournalists, Pierce brings a keen eye to the weddings he photographs, searching for real moments that capture and preserve the emotions running throughout the wedding day.
When not assigning news coverage at Getty or shooting weddings Pierce can be usually found throughout Brooklyn and the city on his bike with his son, heading to play soccer.
Pierce's style is:
